Arcadia Aviation is dedicated to serving the needs of our tenant customers. The company’s facilities are located, by design, at airports located in close proximity to the nation’s busiest airports that are not heavily frequented by transient passenger traffic. As such, our clients are not inconvenienced by the demands that transient customers typically impose on many of our competitors.
For our clients in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions, Arcadia is developing two locations, one located just outside the Washington DC / Baltimore ADIZ and the other outside the congested Class B airspace of New York. Both airports offer outstanding infrastructure, un-congested aircraft operations, as well as advantageous real estate and cost of living economics. Both airports directly serve the top charter markets in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions.
The combined increase in the number and utilization of jet aircraft has taxed existing general aviation facilities. While the impact of this growth is being felt across the entire national airport infrastructure, it is particularly acute at hub airports like Washington DC’s Dulles International, New York’s Teterboro and other airports located near the nation’s major metropolitan markets.
Private aircraft owners and corporate fleet operators who base their aircraft at these major metropolitan airports compete for space and attention with transient aircraft. High levels of transient activity have contributed to crowded airspace, ramp congestion, service delays and cost escalations at these locations.
Driven in equal part by the growing congestion, lack of available space and the prohibitively high costs of fuel, hangar rent and other services, tenant operators based at primary major market airports are beginning to move their aircraft to “reliever” airports to take advantage of their cheaper fuel, greater availability of hangar storage and better service.
Arcadia Aviation was founded to provide these tenant operators individuals and corporations, managed aircraft customers and corporate flight departments – with an alternative. A place that offers a scope of benefits that we believe is unique in the industry:
While we remain ready to serve you at any location desired by your client, there are benefits of keeping the aircraft within the Arcadia network of locations:
Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport (MRB), known for its place in aviation history as Shepherd Field, is Arcadia’s current base of operations near Martinsburg, West Virginia - located 37 miles northwest of Dulles International Airport (IAD). Since 1955, MRB has been proud to serve as the home of the USAF 167th Airlift Wing, now a C5 Galaxy base.
In 1946, All American Airways began its operations here, better known today as US AIRWAYS. Fairchild Aircraft manufactured and maintained the F227 here in the 1960’s.
Shepherd Field was also the home of the Berkeley Aviation Flying Club, whose members included Amelia Earhart and General Billy Mitchell.
Arcadia Aviation is your Fixed Base Operator at MRB, offering a complete range of FBO services to our growing list of clients, including an FAA Part 145 Repair Station. Our contract Jet A clients receive deeply discounted fuel prices as well as our commitment to help their flight departments control the high fuel costs of today.
Arcadia Aviation, also an airport developer, has made a long-term commitment to MRB’s growth, having just completed the first section of a planned 200,000 sf corporate hangar and office complex. Arcadia is currently seeking base tenant flight departments at each of our FBO locations.
